The mission of Meadowview is to co-create a comfortable and supportive environment where personal choices can develop opportunities that promote wellness and improve quality of life. This report identifies ten specific areas, or guiding principles, that will assist states and federal policy makers in defining and understanding what comprises safe, effective, and legal recovery housing. National organizations have contributed significant and valuable work in developing policies, practices, and guidance to improve recovery housing as an integral model of care. Each level implements the social model to varying degrees and offers distinctly different service intensities. Recovery Residence

Level 2 residences have unpaid staff who monitor resident participation in individual and community recovery activities. WVARR serves as a unified voice advocating for and educating about the recovery residence community in West Virginia. Admission to the residence is on a rolling basis and is open to all students in recovery. Residents will be uniquely positioned to enjoy the full range of resources of our recovery programming, from University-funded events and activities to expanded counseling support. The residence encourages health and wellness in mind, body and spirit for our students in recovery. Our mission is to support persons in recovery from addiction by improving their access to quality recovery residences through standards, support services, placement, education, research and advocacy. Recovery residences provide a safe and healthy living environment for people in recovery. Recovery residences go by different names, like Oxford Houses, sober living houses, recovery homes, and halfway houses.

The recovery residence is rooted in a strong community and connection with others. The Sacred Heart Recovery Residence opened with 14 respite beds and 48 entry-level long-term beds, serving people who have experienced homelessness and are committed to recovery.
